SONGWRITER PRODUCTION NIGHT

Soulful Songwriter Collective, in partnership with The Recording Arts Foundation, presents a series of recording and production workshops for up-and-coming local singers/songwriters.

Hosted and produced by award-winning songwriter Justin Froese, these monthly events invite up-and-coming musical artists to work with student audio engineers from TRAC’s diploma program to develop and produce high-quality content for artists while providing student engineers with a wealth of invaluable real-world experience in the studio.

Songwriter Production nights exemplify how The Recording Arts Center at Studio West leverages decades of expertise and experience in education and professional music production to benefit San Diego’s thriving creative communities.

If you are an artist and you would like to participate in these events, please complete the registration form above.

A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

As a multi-talented artist/producer, Justin is known for his groove-driven alt pop stylings, built on a diverse palate of musical tastes. His mainstream sensibilities combined with a decade of classical training have resulted in the ability not only to cross genres, but in many cases, defy them. Bluesy and soulful, Justin always delivers a dynamic, heartfelt performance.

Originally from San Diego, Justin has played many of the West Coast’s most storied venues including The Belly Up, The Casbah, and the House of Blues main stage in San Diego; The Roxy, The Mint, Hotel Café, and Room 5 in Los Angeles; and The Columbia City Theater, Conor Byrne Pub, The Tractor Tavern and The Triple Door in Seattle.

Froese performs mainly in Southern California where he resides, but also performs on the national college circuit and occasionally performs internationally. Additionally, Froese is an award-winning songwriter and has been recently commissioned by Warner Chappell Music to write and produce for their Valo Artist catalog.

“Justin Froese’s radio-ready voice soars… Sometimes bluesy, sometimes driving, [his music] showcases a stunning musical vocabulary, as well as a fat pocketful of talent…”

The mission of The Recording Arts Foundation is to provide access to audio and music production services and education to non-profit organizations and the local arts community.

Monumental Impact isn’t only for a few. We believe that the future of a creative economy can touch thousands who may not have otherwise had the opportunity.

The Recording Arts Centre is based at Studio West.

Our education programs offer a solid foundation in professional audio, but we don’t stop there. In an industry where degrees and certifications often matter less than experience and dedication, we understand the importance of getting into the studio and doing the work. TRAC’s setting inside of a fast-paced and energetic production environment is vital to an exceptional practical education, and our programs are designed from the ground up to give you hands-on experience that you can’t find anywhere else.
