DISABILITY SERVICES
The Recording Arts Center is committed to providing an inclusive learning environment and equal access for all students, ensuring individuals with disabilities can fully participate in our career and technical training programs, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.”
Our Chief Academic Officer serves as the central hub for disability-related support. To receive accommodations, students must self-identify and provide current, comprehensive documentation from a qualified professional, demonstrating a disability and its functional impact on academic/training participation. Documentation should connect the disability to specific accommodation needs and be recent. The CAO will review documentation, discuss functional limitations, and develop an individualized Accommodation Plan with the student.
We offer a range of services for those with recognized and confirmed disabilities, including:
- Academic Accommodations: Extended test time, quiet testing spaces, note taking assistance (including specialized speech to text software), tutoring options, project extensions on an as needed basis.
- Specialized Counseling: Guidance on academic planning, career pathways, and balancing responsibilities.
- Facility Access: Assistance with campus navigation and ensuring that student has access to all studio environments and hardware/software necessary to complete the program.
A good faith effort will be taken by TRAC to accommodate the needs of a given student, however documentation of a specific disability is no guarantee that accommodation will be met in its totality. Reasonable notice must be provided to ensure the optimal resolution for all parties.
