The Production Workshop

Postponed until further notice….

To ensure the safety of our clients and staff during the COVID 19 pandemic, Studio West’s youth programs will not be offering group classes for the remainder of 2020. We are however offering one-on-one instruction in our COVID-sensitive learning environment, students may periodically visit the studio for one on one instruction, then interface with the same instructor for online learning on a regular basis. Thanks to our network of clients, we are able to place students with peers as collaborators, similar to the approach of the Production Workshop. For interested students we recommend a 5-hour monthly subscription which includes 2 hours of in person instruction and 3 hours online.

The Production Workshop at Studio West meets weekly and is a place where students’ creative potential can be realized. Over the course of a semester, participants will work independently and collaborate with peers to fully produce an original recording. Each week a new aspect of the recording process will be addressed by an accompanying lesson; topics include songwriting, arrangement, performance, recording, editing, and mixing. Students will have access to individual computer workstations equipped with Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, and Ableton Live to help aid their creative process. Studio West also provides three world-class recording rooms that students will have the opportunity to work in while completing their projects.
