Bobby Bray

For over a decade Bobby Bray handled the business end of his band The Locust, which incorporated as Radio Surgery. The group toured both Europe and the United States over ten times as well as Japan a few times. Touring partners include the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, At the Drive-In, and Mike Patton’s Fantômas. In addition to having their albums released by record labels such as Epitaph, Gold Standard Laboratories, and Ipecac, The Locust also released their own music through Radio Surgery.

In 2011 Bobby graduated from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts from the Music department. While he was a student at UCSD he worked at the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2) demonstrating new media facilities including the StarCAVE and HIPerSPACE.

Bobby is currently the lead Sound Engineer at the Whistle Stop, a venue in South Park. He has written in the music section of the San Diego Reader and has been teaching in the Audio Production department of the Art Institute of California – San Diego since 2012.
